LE LOUNGE PRIVEE OSCARS 2013 COCKTAIL PARTY IN HOLLYWOOD BY HAYARI

[Note: I went to ten, count them, ten, Oscars Weeks events! Only one was a waste of time, but the other nonet were great, and each was unique. As physically-challenging to me as it all was, it was worth it to have so many wonderful stories to share with you. So, each Oscars Suite and party gets its own column, in the order of my visits to them, (with many of the celebrities being discussed in the next Celeb Sightings one,) because I want you to be able to concentrate on each and every aspect I’m telling you about. I don’t want you to miss even one second of the fun, so please make sure to check all nine days worth of stories to learn about the entirety of the fabulous-ness! This is the sixth of nine.]

This was the perfect event in an overcrowded Oscars week! I had been invited to something in this space (I think it was a suite, of sorts,) during the day that I sadly, had to pass on. But the cocktail party on the mezzanine of West Hollywood’s Andaz Hotel was a classy, low-key, elegant one, that was like a scene in a movie.

For starters, it was incredibly exclusive. Only true VIPs were invited to peruse beautiful gowns, designed by Clarisse Hieraix and Nabil Hayari, to borrow for the rest of the week-end’s festivities. I loved seeing the creations, but as a rule, I never borrow wardrobe, although I did a few times for my TV show. But it was just too stressful for me, worrying that something might happen to attire that really belonged to someone else. I know that the practice is a must in today’s fashion world; I wish I had come to that realization before Mr. X bought me all those gorgeous, way-too-expensive gowns that I used to wear back in the day! Some I actually got to repeat, but the majority got worn just once, or are still sitting around, waiting for the proper occasion. (Or given to charity, or to pals’ kids to play dress-up with! Not great planning on my part. That’s what happens when you’re both the talent and stylist!)

Okay, back to Le Lounge Privee’s party! We also saw a display of Hayari perfumes from Paris, and were treated to a tasting of gorgeous and flavorful Michelle Haut Chocolats. The always-elegant Celia loved them!

There were lovely waiters passing delicious appetizers, including the tastiest mini-burgers ever! I’m still craving them. The set-up drinks area, with about seven beverages that I love, (a first at an event for me,) had the most pleasant bartender ever. I wish he could be at every party I attend!

We finished with an elegant dessert bar featuring macaroons and meringues, (and bite-sized pieces of red and black licorice—what a brilliant party-idea!) All guests left with goodie bags featuring premium cosmetics. As I stated in the opening, the perfect event.
